York Zen Group (wgzs)

Christopher Ryushin Collingwood Roshi established the York Zen Group as part of the Wild Goose Zen Sangha (WGZS) in 2014, with the encouragement and support of Father Patrick Kundo Eastman Roshi, a Roman Catholic priest, who had founded WGZS in 2005. Chris Ryushin was first introduced to Zen practice at the Oxford Zen Centre, which is part of the Sanbo-Zen tradition, and subsequently met and became a formal student of Patrick Kundo Eastman Roshi, first receiving Jukai from him and then Dharma Transmission, giving him authority to teach. Finally, in 2019, he received Inka from Patrick Kundo Roshi, conferring on him the title Roshi.
